Easiest Craft: Glitter Ornament

So you say you’re not a crafter?  Don’t think you can hold a candle for Handmade Christmas 2010? Well I’m here to tell you two simple things…

1. You’re wrong.

2. Just add glitter.

This ornament how-to is not only super simple.  Just a few quick steps and you can give a magical make over to a beat-up, scratched, or drab ball ornament and

Materials Needed:
Ball ornament
Modge Podge
Foam brush
Glitter, (the finer the cut of glitter, the better in my opinion)

The Trust Me, You’ll Thank Me Later Materials:
Mug
Bubble wrap or newspaper
marker or pen
piece of paper

Instructions:

Step 1: Remove the ornament top and set aside.

Step 2: Place ornament on marker, and place marker in a mug, using bubble wrap to help hold the marker up if necessary.  Keep paper near by.

Step 3: Brush Ornament with Modge Podge, using foam brush.

Step 4: OVER THE PAPER, sprinkle glitter on the ornament, a little bit at a time.  Rotate the ball in order to move some of the loose glitter to uncovered areas before adding more glitter.

Step 5: Once covered, give ornament a gentle shake over the paper to remove loose glitter. Place marker in mug and allow ornament to dry for several hours.

    Oh my gosh. I can’t read this and not comment. I think I’ve had a magnetic attraction to glitter since I was ~7. I need to make these!

    I agree – glitter makes things better – especially Christmas!! I have to try these with my plain Jane ornaments!

    YAY! This looks like fun! I’m allergic to glitter I think, but I don’t care! Glitter makes soooo many things purty!

    Can you get hodge podge glue at Walmart or do you have to get it special? And if you have to get it special can you share an alternative glue option I could use that I could get at Walmart?

      They most likely have Modge Podge at wal-mart. I know they sell it at mine, in the craft section!
